2015 GT Tech Challenge

Students in Mrs. London's class, Mrs. Wachtl's class, and Mrs. Purves's class have spent months researching and preparing their 2015 Tech Challenges.  This project involves the integration of numerous 21st century skills, including long-term collaboration with team members, research and ethical use of information, and the use of a digital tool to communicate the results of their research in an engaging digital story.  Students have worked very hard, and invite you to view the results of their efforts!

Mrs. London's 1st and 2nd graders researched ports of call.  Teams selected locations to research, and prepared presentations using Powtoon.  All of their projects were then added to this Padlet.  Click on the image to view their presentations!

Mrs. Wachtl's 3rd and 4th graders collaboratively researched a wide range of topics, from Minecraft in education to evidence of megalodons in today's oceans.  Students used either Animoto or Powtoon.  Check out their creations HERE.

Mrs. Purves's 4th and 5th graders also self-selected topics as diverse as the effects of sugary beverages on health to brain trauma, Ebola, alien life, and more.  Students used a variety of digital tools to create their presentations, including Animoto, Powtoon, Prezi, and Haiku Deck.  Check out their collaborative efforts HERE.

A group from Mrs. Purves's class WON the district-level challenge for their grade level.  Congratulations to Maddie, Maya, and Morgan for their well-researched and beautifully presented Animoto video on coral reefs!
