Mrs. Sutherland's book club celebrated the completion of its first book, Escape From Mr. Lemoncello's Library with a Dewey Decimal-themed scavenger hunt in the Parmalee Library. Students enjoyed the book so much Mrs. Sutherland wrote to author Chris Grabenstein, who sent puzzles and clues inspired by the book for Parmalee students to solve. On December 18 teams of students researched clues, then searched the library shelves for more clues hidden in books located in each of the 10 Dewey Decimal Classification divisions, from 000s (Generalities) to 900s (History & Geography). Students searched all morning, and returned to complete the challenge at lunch. A very fun and successful celebration of reading and libraries!
