In defense of handwriting

With the increased use of technology and 21st century skills in education, many parents and educators wonder if it is still worth it to teach manuscript and cursive as part of the elementary curriculum.  This New York Times article offers interesting information about handwriting and memory, as well as deeper understanding of material when student write rather than type.
